Start with the situation
Game script means the situation a team is playing in: the score, time remaining, and the decisions those conditions encourage. A trailing team may need to move the ball faster. That can change the balance between rushing and passing. It does not prove the coach stopped trusting a running back.
Look for the mechanism
Ask what actually changed. Did the player leave the game, or did the team have fewer rushing opportunities? Was the player still involved as a receiver? Those are different explanations for a lower rushing total.
Use a competing explanation
An injury, a different rotation, or an opponent’s adjustment could also affect involvement. The score alone cannot tell us which explanation is right. Watch participation and the team’s choices together.
Follow a real example
Henry and Taylor occupy lead running-back roles in the stored evidence. The useful question is how long each team can sustain that involvement.
